Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and CDC recommend that ophthalmologists stop providing all routine eye care and only see patients with urgent issues. We have decreased our office hours due to Coronavirus and will be open Mondays March 3/23 and 3/30: 8:30-5:00 and Friday 3/27: 8:30-3:00. We are cancelling all routine exams scheduled for the next month.
We will be calling all patients with upcoming appointments scheduled for the next month to cancel or reschedule as appropriate. Dr. Evans has reviewed all the patient charts for patients on the schedule for the next month and determined which people can wait for their eye appointment and which patients we will make a priority of seeing soon during our limited hours.
We will also be open those 3 days for people that have glasses or contacts ordered and need to pick them up. Call our office to see if your order is in the office prior to coming into the office. If you prefer that your glasses or contacts be shipped to your home, we will ask for payment of shipping fees over the phone. We will order additional contact lenses for patients as needed throughout this time of closure and ship them to your home.
We will be taking phone calls and triaging patients on an individual basis to determine who needs to be seen by an ophthalmologist during this difficult time. Voice mail will be checked daily to review messages and if you have an urgent issue and need to speak to the doctor on call, you can mark your message urgent by pressing #2 after your message and this will page the doctor on call. She will return your call as soon as possible.
We hope that you understand that it is in the best interest of everyone's health tomaintain social distancing in this manner.
