After reviewing new recommendations from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the CDC, we have decided to resume routine and medical eye exams on Tuesday May 26, 2020. At that time, we will resume normal office hours of Mon-Thurs 8:30-5:00 and Fri 8:30-3:00. We will be calling all patients whose appointments were cancelled since we closed due to Covid-19. We also have openings for any other patients who would like to schedule their routine eye exam or follow up soon.
We want to make you aware of changes to our clinic policy to ensure your safety as well as the safety of our staff.
We will be asking you a series of questions the day before your exam to make sure you are at low risk of having Covid-19 at the time of your exam.
We request patients come alone for clinic visits unless they are a minor or need assistance from another adult. We are also changing our schedule to reduce the total number of people in our office at any one time. We will be scheduling one patient every ½ hour to allow for sanitization of the exam rooms in between patients as well as maintain social distancing in the waiting room.
We will require patients/guests of the clinic to reschedule appointments if they have any cold/flu symptoms or have been exposed to someone with possible Covid-19 symptoms or a positive test in the last two weeks.
Upon arrival to our office, we will check your temperature with a touchless thermometer, and you will be asked to remove your gloves and wash your hands or use hand sanitizer.
We will require patients and caretakers to wear a mask or face covering for their entire visit. Please come in wearing a mask from home if possible. If you do not have a mask, we will provide one for you.
We will be sanitizing waiting room chairs and patient touch areas multiple times throughout the day.
We will be sanitizing eyeglass frames after they are tried on, door handles, counter-tops, etc. several times a day.
Exam room chairs and equipment will be sanitized between patient encounters, as always.
Our physician and staff will continue to disinfect their hands between every patient encounter.
This is a challenging time for all of us. Unfortunately, we don’t know when this pandemic will end. Until then, we will do our best to care for your eyes while adhering to these safety guidelines. Thank you for your continued understanding and support. We wish you good health and good vision.
